You have probably heard many people say they do yoga and you probably want to know what the fuss is about, so keep on reading!!
My Story( don't worry, I'll keep this part short):
I started yoga a year ago, when I was 13.
I just picked up my mom's old yoga mat and yoga book and I started yoga. I definitely fell in love with yoga, just how I did with blogging. I promise you will fall in love with yoga too!
What is yoga really about??
Yoga is not just about fancy poses for Instagram, yoga also consists of MEDITATION( this works better than anything, if you live on Planet Earth where there is social media and tons of stress!!!!)
1. Physical Postures
This is pretty much performing yoga sequences and getting your body into different postures like downward dog or tree pose. These poses might seem really silly but they are surprisingly helpful for your body. They help to stretch your out your joints and help your body to become very healthy.
Meditation and breathing patterns are pretty much the same thing depending on which meditation you do. During meditation you are pretty much trying to wire your mind for something specific e.g. to help yourself relax or to become motivated for the day. Meditation in yoga is mainly about helping your mind to become relaxed.
It consists of breathing patterns in which you breath deeply in and out for a short to long time.
Why should I try YOGA anyways?
Yoga helps improve your physical and mental health. You can also shake off a few extra pounds if you practise yoga. Did you know that: yoga even helps you sleep!!! (say goodbye to sleepless nights!!)
Why those fancy poses help you:
They help you to become more flexible and more fit because your body really starts to work, your heart starts to pump more blood and an advantage is that you can lose more weight!
You even start to move your joints more and you will start to realise you can get into poses you didn't even realise you could actually get into!!
Why those really loooong deep breaths(MEDITATION)help you:
Meditation helps your mental health which a lot of people struggle with( because of stress or just because of social media). I even do a meditation on self acceptance in the morning. The different meditations are endless!! It helps to calm the mind and after doing it, you feel grounded and secure with yourself, as well as less stressed.
Other reasons why yoga is good for your life in general!!
You can take yoga classes or chat to people online about yoga and make a few buddies to chat with once in a while.
We all sometimes feel like we don't do anything, and when trying out yoga, we start to have some activity in our lives besides going to school or work that gives some type of purpose. You can even do yoga in different venues like the beach!
Social media QUEEN!!!!:
When you start yoga, you can brag to people on social media by posting really fancy images of yourself doing yoga poses that look effortless, you'll have tons of likes on your photos.
